Cobra 19 DX IV

At $40 you get what you pay for .......

My 19+ was not a barn burner but worked every morning with out fail ...
My GRANT LT is my CB radio of choice that s why it is my base ....

 

Yep...you get a "On and Off" button, a speaker, and a squelch knob and thats about it!

Not allot of bells and whistles...

 

You also get a channel selector and a channel indicator...and in the case of the older 19's the analog meter...not the led meter used by Cobra 19 since about '85 or so.

For the weekend user/occasional user or someone who doesn't have much room in their car for a CB (aka todays cars), the 19 would be ok. Not everyone needs the fancy bells and whistles like roger beep and echo or the big chassis.

I can agree on the 18 models....have heard they're duds out of the box.

I only paid $5 for my 19 GTL and it was an older one built in 1979. Still worked great for a 32 y/o radio too. It also had the PA function on it. In fact I'd think my Cobra 19 would be better than the newer ones. Mine looked like a mini 25. But I traded it for a Reese hitch. I should have kept it and put a nice linear on it and maybe a power mic.
