I have had a problem for the past month or so with my cb. If I disconnect the power cord and plug it back in the cb works for about 2 minutes, and then the display turns orange and nothing works. Can't even turn it off. Have to unplug the power cord again to turn it back off.
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions or knows how to fix this. Thanks for any help.

How old is the radio? Just curious
-
Only about 4 months. Worked fine up until about a month ago.

Mike's radio repair did a youtube video review of this radio and said that this radio is pretty much a turd. You probably would be better off with something else.
-
I actually watched that video before I bought it, but decided to check it out anyway

To much #### on a radio..
-
If it's only 4 months old, It should still be under warranty...The LX MAX has a 2 year warranty...
-
No matter how many yrs its good for, poor quality leaves you w/o a radio for weeks at a time..

Cobra like other manufacturers like putting lots of bells and whistles on a device that legally cannot transmit more than 4 watts am pep in the case of the Cobra 29 and other similar radios or 12 watts ssb for those models. It's a gorgeous radio with a lot of neat features but as Scotty once said. .
Its still a 4 watt out of the box radio, everything else is just lipstick on a pig. -
One guy asked me one night on the CB what would be a good radio to "get out a little further." I told him getting out is the job of the antenna, not the radio. I told him they are all limited to 4 watts from the factory. Unless its been illegally tuned by some jock in a shop, it's no better or worse than any other 4 watt CB on the market.
