Cobra 29 lx max problem

Id really like to have one of each lol.
A Cobra 29 LX Max,.
A Uniden 885 hybrid.
A President McKinley.
And a Uniden 980.
Maybe I should get a crowdfunding page started lol.
But for my purposes, a Uniden Pro 520XL is fine.

 

True to a point...but allot of the smaller cheaper radios don't have the same filtering, or audio quality as the more expensive larger case radios... However they are finally making smaller radio case radios that are more high quality like the new President radios and I believe Stryker has one out now also.

 

He didn't ask about audio quality, he asked about "getting out further." That's directly based on output power, and all radios are legally limited to 4 watts.

 

Not all radios, why do you think 10 meter/ export radios that are easily converted to 11 meters are so popular. I know you were keeping your discussion to Fcc legal radios ( cobra 29 types) but you buy a Stryker 955 and you have 4 times the power output ( 16 watt carrier 60 to 70 watt pep) which will transmit farther.

 

The CPU board is toast. That is a problem in that particular radio, and it’s about $50 for the part. The tech has to unsolder and resolder about 30 wires, so with labor it’s not worth fixing. Don’t waste your money, I can show you two radios at my techs house he did the repairs to.

 

Stryker has the hpc2 but only 2 issues i see is that it could use better cooling if your long winded and its am only..Physically smaller than a cobra but packs a good punch,with lotsa options....I think galaxy has some new one very much like the 447hpc2....Ya also have the anytone 6666 which i think uses same chassie as the hpc2 but its a side bander to..

 

Speed limits are posted but everyone breaks them..Think of an export radio as a speeder..lol..

Someones got a BIGGGGG radio i take it...Im just stayin barefoot for awhile yet..Got more to learn before i play with big powa

 

Anything over 4 watts is illegal and can get you fined heavily.
