Hooked up 29 NW ( stock power no P&T) when I keyed up mic needle moved to 9 on meter ( normal) when I unkeyed the meter moved back to 7 and stayed there and antenna warning light came on, and then key mic again, unkey, and needle went all the way back to the left. Any ideas whats causing this, is not the antenna because tried three other radios and they function normally.

Yes, was using a Ranger SRA 198 which has always worked well with that radio, so I tried Astatic 636 and RK 56 and they both did the same thing.

I have a Huster Q27 antenna installed on a bird perch on a 2015 volvo, swr is 1.2, and as I stated, my other radios didnt exhibit the same problem. I got to believe its something in the radio, I was just hoping to get some ideas before I take it to a Cb shop. Guess next time Im in San Antonio I will go to Clays, I trust them.

If you've ruled out the antenna system, and mic, then it has to be somethin within the radio. Was thinking maybe the meter is just sticking, but with the awi light coming on, its probably somethin more.
Does the radio still transmit/receive on frequency?

I didnt try talking because when I first keyed up the ant warning light came on ( and it usually doesnt) so I unkeyed and that is when I noticed that needle just went back to 7 and stayed there. I didnt hear anyone on receive but did hear normal white noise.

Normal white noise could be created within the radio itself. You could pop the lids off, and look for any loose wires, burnt spots, etc... cold solder joints are a common problem with about all cbs anymore, as well.
I would say, it may be best to take it to your shop of choice, and let them troubleshoot with the proper test gear.
