    Thanks for the info, good to know. Now I'll keep my eye out for radios made in other countries.

    Yes that is sure true. After re-reading my post again, i realized i left out a point i meant to make. I meant to say that the 1/8th watt resistors usually aren’t a problem, as long as people don’t try and get max power out of the radio. If they run a cb radio at the legal 4 watts, then the radio can last for years. The only other problem is cold solder joints due to poor quality control. Just in case SGONZA101 didn’t know that.
