No tater I STRIVE to be pathetic .... What I have been doing is to in a light but firm way counter what is so widely printed about CB/CBrules.

When I brought up why should i have a CDL it was THEY ENFORCE trucking rules not a reason WHY I should have to have one ... but they don't enforce CB so you don't need to follow those rules.

Interestly the FCC IS enforcing CB they are acting on tips kinda like the border not many are cought but they get some.

Enforcement go way up once you cross out of the CB band the people using RANGERS need to understand that 12 and 10 meters are OFF LIMITS.

I work for a Sheriff office at the Jail it is common to hear the inmates talk about what they can GET AWAY WITH ...... kinda like freebanders.

The FCC DOES a good job of keeping most services clean and with the help of HAMS and other LICENSED users lets hope it stays that way .

The difference between operating a 10 meter radio and an 80,000+ lb truck is totally different. One can kill people in a heartbeat if the operator doesn't have a clue how to properly operate it and the other MAY cause some slight interference onThe radio waves. Having a CDL means that you have been tested to safely inspect and operate the equipment so that you won't kill anyone on the roads.

I have a ten meter radio, use it daily, it is a tool. I only use it on CB but I have listened too the hundreds of dead frequencies on it to see if anyone is actually using them. Nope, not even a buzz for the most part.

Many hams across the world have said that they don't even bother with 10 meter. They have more commonly used choices that are better.

We depend on mobil radios in my area for truck to truck communications. This is because cell service is spotty at best and you can comunicate with multiple trucks with one transmission rather then having to try and find numbers and dial them etc while moving down the road.

The extra output of ten meter radios, helps us comunicate better. We can be heard over a longer distance rather then try and hear a faint whisper on the radio from a regular CB.

 

Here is your chance the FCC is taking input on changing CB rules file one .....

Now in DEFENCE of what you are saying ( GASP ) I understand your need to comminicate over long distances theproblem is CB was not set up to do that maybe the trucking industry needs to file to move the very lightly used 27.405 -27.600 frequencies to use maybe FM even the cormercial standard of up to 120 watts FM as a CB band add on ......
Range would be very good ....

These last few weeks I have made it a point to cover as much of "your" sacred bands as I can,Ive talked several hours to many HO across the lower 48.

I have posted about going on 12 or 10 meters because that is BEYOND stupid your asking to get caught. Now as for the so called freeband I have also posted that as a HAM and like 99.999% of us it's NOT my problem.

I also point out IF you feel you have a need/right to more frequencies go apply to the FCC FOR THEM ..... RIGHT NOW THEY ARE LOOKING FOR COMMENTS ON CB RULE CHANGES.

Regarding 11 Meter CB, the FCC says it plans to evaluate various requirements regarding the Citizens Band Radio Service in order to determine whether they all are still needed. Of significance the FCC will be looking into CB'ers who work skip during band openings. It notes that amplifiers for CB stations are already illegal, but WT Docket No. 10-119 asks if the regulatory agency should consider prohibiting directional antennas for C-B operations in order to promote the services intended use for short range only communications. It also wants to know if it should consider power reductions for the CB Service and whether or not to permit the use of "hands-free" microphones.

FCC WT Docket No. 10-119 is 96 pages long including various appendices. It also carries a rather short commentary cutoff date of 30 days after publication in the Federal Register. Reply Comments will be due 45 days after publication in the Federal Register.
