Eh, I just bought the Cobra unit about 3 weeks ago and so far I'm pretty happy with it. Sometimes it doesn't take either the fastest or shortest route and does some screwy stuff on the long distance stuff, but it's usually spot on when it comes time to squeeze around Jersey. Kudos. One thing you should check out. Plot a route from Statesville, NC to say Spartanburg, SC. This will take you down I-77 to I-85 in Charlotte, NC to Spartanburg. However, it's both shorter AND faster by a couple of miles, and it also has WAY less traffic, to take the new I-485 bypass from 77 to 85. Tried it both ways. When I hit 485 the GPS reroutes me across 485 at that point and even it says its shorter and faster. However, it never figures that out on its own. Weird. Thought you should know.

I could have sworn it wanted to route me from Avenel NJ to Madison AL in the last legs I-40 to I-65 then to I-565. I stopped in VA and shut it off for the night. It routed me down I-75 to I-24 to US72 to 565. That was the route I was going to take anyway!

Hi Brian, I am going to buy a 7700 from my brother in law. he is going to leave it at my house next time he comes that way, and I will pick it up when I get home in a couple of weeks. I want to make sure that I have everything I need by the time I get home to make it as up to date as possible. I saw in a previous post that a new database is coming out and it has to be mailed out b/c of the large size. I was wondering if it has come out yet and if so how i can get it and any other updates i may need. I am sure you have already covered this, but there are too many posts to go thru with slow t/s internet. Thanks

Hey Brian, I got a couple more little quirks with my 7750 platinum. Plot a route from Harrisburg PA to Boston, MA. It should take you 81 to 78 to 95 and through NYC. However, in Jersey, while on 95 before the GW Bridge it has you exit off on some highway for a bit and get back on 95 again to cross GWB into Manhatten. There is no reason you should get off 95 for that trip. Also, do y'all have the bridge restrictions on 95 going into Providence, RI in the system or should I be prepared to manually dodge it if necessary?

Denver CO. Going East on SR58 to I-70 exit 269 it tells you to take 269A which actually takes you off the freeway. You really need to take 269B.

Going in IL on I-70 doing a search for truck stops from Troy to Effingham the Love's at exit 45 doesn't show up.

I-70 in Limon CO rolling along. Searched for T/S's on the route to Trenton OH. I see the T/A in Oakley KS. I picked that place. She tells me exit either at #70 or 79. (I forgot.) Whichever it was wanted me to get on US-40 to get there. 16mi. from exit 76 I went to my recent favorites and resent to go to Oakley. It caught it's mistake and set a course for exit 76.

I have given the route to our engineers for analysis.

Regarding the bridge restrictions in Providence, we believe that we have that area fully covered. However please always watch for and obey local traffic signs.

The new database has not yet been released. I expect it to be available within the next 2-3 weeks. I will post a note here when it becomes available.

Ralston Foods in Lancaster OH. 276 Bremen RD.

Closest address given is 5200. And the only road I can find is Bremen RD SE.

This is a constant battle. Can't find the address etc. Yet the place has been there for eons.
