Cobra Electronics 7700 PRO GPS

needed to go south on hwy 410 BB wanted to send me 4 klm north to enter the hwy
when the road i was on has a entrance to the hwy plus it also showed 3 T limit again when said road is a major truck route ( Courtney park road in Brampton Ontario )

 

Hey Brian My name is Theron my 7700 has lately started getting realy slow and leading me WAY stupid kind of stray (taking me 20 miles out county rds when the freeway I am on goes in a streight threw) so I confirmed all info but it would only offer the weight isues for Ca and canada and not the 1.5.1.28 or 23 which are I believe the ones I need ??? any Ideas??? Making the run to Penske in Knoxville I am 1.5 miles from I-40 from the Heiskell Ave exit. I take I-275 South and take 40E. Bebe wants me to go back to 40W and pick up I-640. When you don't go West it trys to turn you around for 1-2 or more exits.

Does this unit have a way to select a route that will avoid low bridges?

 

You can set and save multiple truck "profiles" height, weight, number of axles, flammable, etc.

 

So whats you guys overall verdict? Would you buy the Cobra again knowing what you know now or would you buy something else and if something else what one?

 

Many times in my experience every model I have used has the same stupid mapping errors. A friend had PC Miler on his lap top it had many of the same errors, and inabilities as mine. I have a car GPS the cheapest Garmin that Pilot sells. It screw up and has less features than the Cobra.

I would love to complain about how mine tried to drag me through down town Nashville to get to Ryder trucks. It tried to do it again going to the can yard for ICM the intermodal yard.

I am going to Blue Springs MS from Nashville tonight. #### thing wants to run me all the way to Memphis then down US 78. The Toyota plant is right next to 78. It won't take me there with the address. It can't even find the street. Mapquest even shows the plant!

It didn't even show a street in Seymour IN where Aisin (sp) who makes Toyota parts is located. The street is there if you go left. The place I needed is to the right.

The Walmart DC in Seymour? It can't find that either. I drags you into town. The DC is right off the interstate.

My last update was in December.

It is a good idea to have Microsoft maps and streets in your lap top.

Brian may be responding on the 7750 thread. I am used to the Cobra. Probably buy one if I got another.

 

Would not buy another Cobra Randy McNally looks like a good unit

 

Brian I was thumbing through a magazine and noticed that there is a new cobra GPS coming out the 8000 pro hd. Is there a release date for this unit? Will we be able to upgrade to this unit in the same manner we have done with the 7700 to the 7750?
