    Hi Brian,

Good thread, I learned alot. I drive a straight box truck (class B cdl). I travel from Delaware to Miami, Mobile to Memphis. My driving is split between interstate and small secondart roads. I get very mad at my car gps for taking me through neighborhoods to get to my location. Another time it took me through the middle of DC instead of driving 2 miles the opposite way to catch the 495 loop around DC. Will your gps help me with this? I visit many Mom & Pop stores; how many locations will the address book hold? I also wish there was some way of backing up the adress book in case the unit went down, I wouldn't lose all that info (I love that my Blackberry phone backs up to my pc). I can't remember all my questions righ now. Thanks

The 7700 will definitely keep you on trucker-friendly roads. No more neighborhoods! The address book can hold over 1000 locations, so that should not be a problem. Regarding backing up the address book, I believe it can be done. I will need to investigate and get back to you.

Regular PC routing programs like MS Streets and Trips does. But you still have to do some basic math to come up with the State by State miles.

    Brain,
do we let you know if their is a bad address, found one that was 20 or so miles off customer dosn't know how to fix it either, business next door is correct though.
what is the sd card slot for can't find any info on it.
One week with the unit and has performed very well. I assume by the lack of posts here its either a really good gps or not many people are buying it.

Let me know the address and I will check on it. When you say that it is 20 miles off, do you mean that you are at the address but the nav unit wants to go another 20 miles? You can email me the address at productinfo@cobra.com and please put it Attn: Brian

Regarding the SD card slot, it is only for installing updates. When we release a map update, it is available on DVD or on SD card.

Of course it is because the unit is so good!

    Hey Brian,

GREAT THREAD! I've only driven for a couple months, but there is a feature on the Garmins that I really want. It's "Lane Assist". There were a couple times that the signage wasn't really adequate or didn't tell you which lane to be in early enough. It's really good to know when you are in traffic and know far enough in advance what lane to get into.

For instance: If the Interstate I'm on splits, the lane I need is on the inside right of the split and crosses over/under back to the left. Will the 7700 just show to turn left?
