Cobra Electronics 7700 PRO GPS

if i order one today from cobra, will i get the most updated version, i am from canada and am most interested in the canadian updates.

being totally ignorant of anything electronic (except my remote control at home), do these things keep a "memory" of where you have been and how far you have traveled? i heard of a d.o.t. cop wanting to check a gps to see if a driver had traveled over a weight restricted route (he didn't), but the cop had gotten a report of a truck similar to the drivers truck going into a small town where it wasn't supposed to be. if it has this feature, can it be disabled? i can see a driver being beat up for being off 15 minutes for a logbook violation, etc..

 

i have had my cobra 7700 for over 2 months nwo not a bit of trouble can we get a free up date on it every 6 mounths

 

I have a Co-Pilot Truck GPS that i bought last summer 399.99 Then this fall to get it upgrades with a 99.95 SD card (this want happen agian)if I buy one of your units will Me and everyone else that bought One have to pay to get it upgreded every year.I know garmin sell a truck GPS that has free upgrades.

 

I think you may be a little confused.

If you purchased the PC*Miler Nav 540 (list price $399) you already have the latest software and updates.

If you purchased the PC*Miler 430 (list $299) PC*Miler is offering a FREE software upgrade.

Simply go to PCMNAV.com and you'll find the software update there.

 

I got mine a few weeks ago from Amazon for $399 w/free shipping. I've been using it in my personal 4 wheeler truck since I've gotten it and love it! I think I bought the correct one...I'll be in a truck in a couple of weeks and since I've been using it already, I'm used to it. I only find one tiny glitch....sometimes after I shut it off,when I get back into my truck after a day out, I find it turned on! I dunno why this is happening, maybe Brian can shed some light on this issue.....oh, and a full documentation package would be nice. When I go to the Cobra website, the only thing they have is the Quick Start Guide that is included....
