Thanks for the info, I thought so, just wanted to be sure, now to find one, so far all i'm finding are the older 7700's

I are a little miffed Mr. Brian,
I have attempted to email Cobra and call you( left my number) and have not heard back. Where is Cobra's service department for this unit? Is there one?
Exit 8 in Pa, there is a Petro-2 truckstop. Your 7750 would NOT route me out of the parking lot due to a weight alert. When I called, the operator transfered me to your phone. I did not receive any further assitance from Cobra regarding this or other routing issues I have with the 7750.
I bought this 7750 based on Cobra's reputation with mid-end but solid electronics. However, I am seriously thinking now that both you and this unit are seriously flawed. I have been driving for over 20 years and do not have, a need, for a GPS. I bought it for it's convience to aid me in getting somewhere.
Good thing. That stop in PA? That was a part of run from Kansas to Jersey. Straight across I70-I76 to NJ42 to NJ55. Your unit had it routed down to Baltimore then back up-even allowing for tollways.
Today, I have routed to Casa Grande. It has me routed off I10 on Az84. Surprise-guess what-low bridge there. Easier to run I10-I8-Thornton rd exit-like two other competing units route. And before you ask, yes, I do own another "trucking" GPS which also isn't all that great at it's defined purpose-much to my surprise based on that company's reputation with personal navigation devices. I actually find that this unit and the 7750 route exactly the same-exactly the same.
Private message me and I'll give you exact route details if you want. I won't post anything but generalities here.

even if its only correct 90% its better than not being there at all
unit returned
I thought the 7750 was going to be better than the 7700
maybe i expect too much for $450 -
Was sitting at the plant in Houston yesterday and attempted to file a route from there to the consignee in Aurora, Co. Again. The 7750 would NOT route out of the plant due to "restrictions".
Is this or is this not supposed to be dock to dock routing?
I'm thinking there are some extremely serious errors in your restricted routing overlays. The unit is horribly unreliable and therefore useless-especially if it can't figure out the nearest road to the location is at and route from there.
Havn't seen a reply to this list in some time Brian.

Brian,
I've had the 7750 PLTM for about three months now. Love the Lane Asist feature, but it has some problems, more on that later. Got a few concerns.
My biggest concern is when I turn off routing, it's first suggestion is either "When possible, make a U-Turn," or "Sharp Left Turn," like from one side of a divided highway to the other. If this is truly supposed to be Truck Specific, why is it's first suggestion always a U-Turn? 95% of the time, a U-Turn in a tractor-trailer is impossible. It's first suggestion should always be the nearest Truck Route to turn either right or left on, THEN reroute me back to the route.
Next: Rest areas. It's nice having that feature, however, I find it accurate only about 50% of the time, and I'm being kind. In some states, it's completely wrong. Sometimes I'm relying on that rest area to be there because I'm running out of hours and need to shut down. When it's not, I may not be able to go 75 miles to the next one.
Mile Marker display: Again, a great feature, when it's correct. I've now been on a few highways where it counts up, when it should be counting down.
And then the Hour Log Timers. Again, a great feature, but you've overlooked the`way we need these timers to work. Nothing wrong with the Driving Hours timer (11 hour clock). It starts and stops fine with a tap. But! THe daily 14 hour timer is flawed. If I want to go "Off-Duty" for awhile, as we all do, I need the 14 hour timer to keep going. Once We start our driving day by going either "On-Duty", or "On-Duty Driving" that 14 clock never stops, yours does. The only way I can make that work correctly is to put the unit in "On-duty" when I'm really "Off-Duty" to keep the 14 running. BUT by doing that, it counts against my Weekly clock, which I don't want it to do. Do you see the problem? I have to then choose between being accurate on my Weekly timer, or my 14 hour timer. You need to have a software update that addresses this issue. After initial startup, once I go either "on-duty", or "on-duty Driving", the 14 hour clock should never stop, even if I go "Off-Duty" until the unit is completely shut-down and restarted, otherwise this feature does us no good.
I hope I made that understandable.
Lane Assist, splitting highways/junctions: Why does it only alert me as to splitting interstates or Junctions in Urban areas. It completely ignores major Interstate splits in rural areas. Example: I80/I680 split near Des Moines, IA. I-84/I-15 Split near Salt Lake City, UT. Yet if I'm in an urban area, it warns me every three minutes to avoid the next exit, and stay to the left. A couple of times, I #### near went the wrong way, because there was no warning, as I am now used to the lane assist.
Small annoyances: Many times it says "your destination is on the left", when it's on the right, or vice-versa.
Overall, I'm very satisfied compared to the car-based TomTom I started using. However, for the $450 price tag, I expected better. I still want to believe. I am A cobra power user. I have the Cobra 1500 watt Inverter, and the Cobra 29WXNW BT. But, I guess I expected a little better from the 7750 Pltm. Please take these notes into account, and I hope to see upgrades or fixes for them soon.
Thanks. Clutch -
My major complaint with the 7750 is you cannot route to many truck stops in its directory. This comes up often for me. For example today i am going to the flying j, in jerome, id and there is no truck route possible to it. I have run across this at least 8 times in the last 10 days. You need an override function. It will route to them if i reboot into car mode. Seriously how many major truck stops are there that have no possible truck route to them? My guess is zero.
Also if i am at a plant often it is impossible to route anywhere without waiting until i drive onto a road. This is just poor design.
That said i do like my cobra but i sincerely expect an update to fix this soon. -
- The approximate starting location (the more specific, the better)
- The destination truck stop. Was this location chosen from the points of interest?
- Your truck settings. To find the truck settings:
I can then run the route and figure out what happens and then let you know.
- Tap anywhere on the map screen and you should be at the menu.
- Tap on SETTINGS at the top.
- Tap on MY TRUCK.
- Please provide the truck type, width, height, and all the weights and lengths.

wyowheels, my responses are in blue below:

I understand what you mean. The simple solution right now is to just ignore that initial instruction. The nav unit will end up recalculating a whole new route rather than trying to get you back onto the existing one. In the meantime I will run this by our engineers to get their opinion. However depending on available roads and your current direction, I'm sure that sometimes the best option is to get turned around.

It would be nice to get some specific examples for me to investigate.

The engineers have assigned someone to investigate and try to find an example where it wants a U-turn even though there is an alternate option. I don't know how hard it will be to find an example by running random routes. Any help would be appreciated, so if you have a specific example that would be great.
