Hmmm... Are you a ham op lurking here? I guess I wasn't exact enough... Yes it's a given that if there is a problem with the final RF amp stage the audio you hear won't go out. However if the driver that originally asked the question doesn't really understand best to keep it simple until it's established what the problem is. Therefore again... Once you have talkback installed.... If you can't hear it well, BUT YOU ARE OTHERWISE GETTING OUT OK, the only simple way to increase the volume of the talkback is an amplified speaker. Again this will not effect the audio put out over the air. You can replace your speaker with an amplified one, or put a small amp in your existing speaker. One thing I did not mention... To me talkback is almost of no value. You really don't know if your getting out. I know a couple of ops that use it to adjust the level of their echo, but I am not a big fan of echo either.
