I got one. Hooked it up in the truck stop tonight. Synched with my phone no problem. Wife called me twice. Got voice mail the first time. Rang on the cb the second time. I don't think the phone had hung up the first time she called. When I called her it worked great. I can hear the truck stop BS clear as a bell.
I will give it the road test tomorrowCerberus and Muleskinner Thank this. -
good deal let us know how it works for you

Hi drivers... I do beta testing for COBRA and some of the problems you have had have been addressed... the blue light... a running update in engineering will solve that if future models... you can plug a mic or speaker into the CB... also turn down your radio gain to about "2pm" on the dial... this was the first unit COBRA has tried BT on... BT will goes into the other models as well in the future... any problems/comments please drop me a line here and I will forward them to the senior engineer...
No I do not work for COBRA... I drive OTR and BETA test the navigation units and other electronic's as needed...
Thanks...
Muleskinner and Cerberus Thank this. -
OK cc194217 this means that some number of this model in the future will be the one I want correct? What might that number be? I am very interested in that model CB.
JGMuleskinner Thanks this. -
I like it. Called a bunch of people on my phone riding down the road this afternoon. Had a few of them them call me back. Phone automatically synched with the cb every time I turned it on. My wife said I sounded "far away" but she could hear me fine even when I sat the mic on the dash and talked loud at it.
I found myself adjusting the squelch and rf gain a lot riding down the road. Also every time I hit a bump in the truck I got a bunch of static. Radio listened great. I didn't talk much. Don't know how far I get out. Have to test that tomorrow. Its paired with a francis 4 ft and 18 ft of coax. SWR was 1.5 when I set it up.Muleskinner Thanks this. -
I am taking it you are asking what serial number to buy to take the eng update for the bright blue light down a few hundred notches? I will have to query Cobra on that one..
pls note.. that the BT function will be added to all models. they just started with a basic model to see how it would work.
for the far away sound,,, try to position the mic closer to your mouth... i found out that the RF set to the 2pm postion and the mic about 5 inches away sounds good...
you can hook an ext mic to the back of the cb.. you might be able to route that around so it is next to your head above the driver window.
For the static problem... take the cb out of the holder the next time you shut down.. hold it in your hand and shake it with it on and see if you still get the static... if not then wiggle your ant and power cables also... -
Any idea on that ant light always being on with a good swr?
