In the early 60’s I was staggering around the yard trying to learn how to walk without getting run over by trucks and bulldozers and things. There wasn’t a lot of helicopter-parent in my father.

Yep, and I appreciate that offer. And no regrets on the purchase. This makes 4 weeks of running hard, 28k miles and change. Just finished the second PM and have used less than a gallon total in those 28k miles.

The tranny swap just afforded an evening off drinking cold beer and watching all the snow geese and Sandhill Cranes.

Full winter front, mine covered the door hinges. Covering the door seam makes a big difference alone, and mine had the arctic heater in the front side box on the driver side. It’s not just the cold. You’d never keep paint on it without covering the front of the truck in the winter. That’s what the quilting was for, rock strikes.

I always thought those full-frontal quilted covers were cool to see.

They were a look of their own. Quilting did a good job of deadening the thud when you caught a rock. That happened a lot between what the sanders put down and gravel roads. One winter in BC/AB/YK was 2 driver windshields and one on the other side. Lots of that here. Until a few years ago to get in and out of Goose Bay, Labrador was 1800mi of gravel. Some of it less than nice.

I’m still trying to figure out how to get that drive for 15 minutes and party with 3 hookers for a week after that program going.
