Coffin sleeper/historical question

    this is what i recall being known as a "coffin sleeper", i had to access it thru what was supposed to be the back window of the cab.

    This will have to be reaching way back into history. Way back.

    Coffin sleeper to me refers to a about a 78 freightliner cabover bunk that just barely fit me plus 6 inches long, 8 wider than me and you could not sit up in there very much. Not enough roof space for that. Essentially a coffin. As long you had that diamond interior inside padding you were fine. If it was bare steel then there are other problems.

    Funny, the last time I spent the night in a Volvo, it tried to kill me.

    (Exhaust leak in the bunk heater, it was a sub truck for a breakdown)

    That's a whole 'nother kind of "coffin sleeper"!:biggrin_25521:
