I never found them to be that useful. Don't get me wrong, I have used them couple of time, I even tried tying them to the bottom of my steel toe boots for the snow but they just didn't work out too well. Unless you pull coils in regular basis for a dedicated customer, they're just dead weights that take up unnecessary storage space. For me, coils are too heavy - not enough pay, going to some f$#@up places with stricter "yard" rules, dealing with a##holes, etc... Kind of like pulling reefer without the $$ part.

How do those work with warped wood?
-
i dont recall any issue with warped wood. as for when i had cut wood i had 2 places i hauled reg one was in va pulling lumber 2x4s and the other was flat alum sheets out of north car...they required uncut lumber. but for me i was setup to try and haul anything and everything on y deck and tring to keep weight down. this helped where i could keep one set of luber for everything and did not need extra to haul my coils. I just wanted to share the idea didnt know a company had start making them...lol
