Your tarp will definitely cover 1 or 2 coils. Its a PIA the first couple times especially with a single but you'll get quicker each time... My 16×26 lumber tarp covers a single, just gotta fold the sides in and play with it a little...

Most of the single coils I see going down the road with a coil bag, the bottom 8" or so on every side is exposed because the bag isn't big enough. Thats just asking for a claim...

I always used my 26 foot lumber tarps. Was a pain but for the $$$. It was fine. Grain bins were the worst. Cut those tarps like butter

No offense, but 2.50 pm isn’t worth leaving the house.
I’ve averaged over 3.70 this year on light legal loads. I’m getting 5.79 pm to haul a container on my step from Norfolk to Elwood, il tomorrow. It weighs 19k

I just did one of those. That place in Norfolk is cool. Cranes are automatic to bring it up to the truck then an operator takes over. They had trouble setting mine on my cam locks but eventually we got it. I’ll go to the place in Elwood anytime of the day anytime of the year.

Regional and local is always paid better per mile ...but going 700-1200 miles is bit different story , even if you got $5per mile one way - back haul will be ugly , unless you have contacts or accounts

    cke Thanks this.

I carry 1 coil tarp. I got it from tri city canvas. Got the biggest one. Hauled a "master coil" this week. Largest coil I've hauled yet and the tarp was still larger. If I were hauling tons of coils I'd just buy a couple more of those or look into getting a Conestoga

And I second what Jon said. Name your rate on coils if you're in the right area
