I understand about the advantages of the straight. I have just as you called it avoided the cookie cutter common engine by being uncommon or even unpopular sometimes.

it has a mack e-7 460. a v8 mack would be cool but i hear parts for them are starting to get hard to come by however.

*F..... it was actually -2 when i filmed that but the overnight low had dropped down to about -10 so it was good and cold soaked. lol i don't live in Canada, north Dakota so might as well be Canada but in the us....lol i do run cross border loads from Canada however.

I personally think straight sixes are better just based on there being less moving parts to break.

It has a leaky manifold. They spoke about how it needs to be fixed.

I did three days last week where the high was like 5, and the lows were -9ish. I'm putting in my two cents cause I never use anti gel, and always turn my truck off. I'd say 1-1/2 revolutions max, she fires right up. Truck said -27 doing about 55 in one valley in Wyoming.
I keep the tanks at least 1/2 full, and get fuel in the freezing states.
The big chains winterize their fuel. I mean think about it, if it wasn't blended for the harsh temps, it wouldn't come out of the dispenser.

Yep. Them dispensers have filters also. Probably not as fine as the trucks though.
