Coldliner Express out of Columbus, OH.
I worked for them from August to December of last year. I sent a message via Qualcomm to inform them I was quitting and bringing the truck back to the terminal. (I was empty and not under a load)
They withheld my last paycheck ($1600!) charging me 2 dollars a mile for unauthorized use to bring the truck back. Additionally, they attempted to ruin my DAC report by falsely stating that I abandoned a load. You can't abandon a load if you never had one in the first place. Just attempting to smear hard working drivers out here and ruin their records for fun.
After posting a google review stating these facts, the owner openly admits that I returned the truck to the terminal without a load (proving that he tried to tarnish my DAC with inaccurate information)
A few other things:
- Guarantee minimum pay in place of Detention/Layover (Guaranteed minimum miles is 2100, not nearly enough for living over the road) If you only get 2100 miles for the week? You'll make around $1000!
- Guarantee minimum pay can be taken away. Laundry list of reasons as to why. They give you a sheet you are required to sign at orientation that says this. There's at least 30 reasons as to why the minimum can be taken away.
- They make you sign a form when you arrive at orientation stating that if you leave within 90 days you are to pay back all the money they invested in you to attend orientation (transport/food/hotel/etc)
- Too much time inbetween loads. Example: Sitting on a 900 mile load for 3-4 days.
Coldliner Express - stay away!

2. Read the documents with every company, you will find most have this policy. Why would a company eat hotel, rental car, drug test etc for a driver to job hop?Lonesome and firemedic2816 Thank this. -
2100 miles is $1000? So you made less than .50 a mile?
-
You biggest mistake was giving notice and doing so while on the road. They sound like a typical dirtbag carrier but let this be a good lesson learned. Don't ever give notice.

2. Yes, I agreed to this policy when I came to orientation. They presented the paperwork and I signed it. I'm not necessarily saying it's a bad thing, I wanted to make everyone aware that they only tell you this when you have already arrived at the hotel.Lonesome Thanks this. -
snowlauncher and Iamoverit Thank this.

After posting my google review of the company the owner decided to call me a loser! LOL.
They must have reported my review because now it's completely hidden and can't be read by others. Nice attempt at concealing their shenanigans.Attached Files:
