Don't forget the cost of not working. Those 9 weeks can add up to quite a bit, even at what the starter companies pay. Or, more realistically, that's 9 weeks earlier that you can get into a "real" company.

Congratulations on those electrical engineering degrees..both of them... Fine ....Can't really give you too much argument from that standpoint ironpony... after coming home from the war , only thing I ever did was drive for a living til I retired. I did always remember some really great advice I got from a teacher in high school though. She told our class that we should strive to find a field of study/a trade , that we could not only use for the 1st few years after finishing school/trade school/college , but one that would always be in demand. She also was wise enough to tell us that there would always be a place for for the garbageman/grocery store clerk/cashier/school teacher/policeman/fireman etc...I guess I'm saying that in order to be a successful individual you don't "have" to be an educated person. Nothing wrong with it...my wife is a very educated lady (CRNA) , my oldest is a family medicine physician , my youngest a civil engineer...My point to the your comment was it's ultimately the OP's decision as to how he wants to use his GI benefits , and to use them to go to a cc CDL program is NOT a total waste....most truck drivers really believe that they provide an invaluable service to this nation...hauling everything that a person needs at one time or another to survive , except maybe for the air we all breathe. That IMHO.....ironpony , shouldn't be considered a waste in any shape , way , form or fashion. Without truck drivers , even the starter/mega companies , this economy would grind to a halt in a very , very short time period. Not trying to change your mind...doesn't affect me one way or another.....just pointing out that there are other thoughts on higher education and it's benefits...BTW...Thank you for your service...

It would be easier if you just list the cons of attending community college, if there are any. There are to many pros.

During the training for the cdl, I will be getting a housing allowance, and if needed a booking stipend, plus my wife works. I'm using the POST 911 Gi bill, not the same as the original. Anyway, as far as college, I'm very close to finishing, but if you must

know I have no desire at this point to continue school. I'm more interested in just getting on the road and making some money, and if possible a little traveling. I realize I won't be home a lot, but for the last 3 years, that's all I've done. So I believe you

when you say I should spend my Gi bill on other forms of education, but If it will help me get on the road easier, then that's how I plan on using it.

If possible, you can bet while traveling or just when able I will take online courses if possible to try and finish up the degree, but its just not a priority right now :) Thank you guys again, PLEASE WATCH THIS, and let me know if you think this is a hoax!!

    thank you!

Maybe he went to Grenada, the little country we invaded to rescue the American medical students that had no idea they were there against their will.
