Right, take a Line Haul job and you'll be just fine. Local P&D will destroy your soul.
One time Old Dominion hired a whole class from a PA cdl school and put all of them on Line Haul.

That's what I did and fit in perfectly because I can't stand routine. Routine sucks the life out of me.
-
I live for routine, but I imagine theres folks like yourself that dont mind the weekly changes. its too bad, im pretty sure yrc is union..
-
We just have to do what we're comfortable with.
I was with a non-union division of YRC. It was run like a union outfit though.
YRC Holland was less than 1/2 mile away and they're Teamsters. They were always griping about us not being union. Wouldn't even speak to us. -
Yeah we are teamster too.. I came in at the very bottom with zero experience.. these guys treat me like absolte worthless trash, lol. zero respect, and shout demands as if they are my supervisor. I really think they are working their hardest to push me off the job. I keep being nice and taking it but I dont think im handeling it correctly. Seniority does strange things to people lol. And since the union covers them, they have no reprecussions. They started me with 3 years probation which means I can get canned off this ####ty job for any reason and the union I pay monthly dues too has little they can do.
I hate to leave any job after only 4 months but 16 an hour with 1.50 raises every year until I hit 27 just isnt worth it. On top of that there is the constent danger of almost getting hit pretty much once a week by a car going 80 mph is enough to say F this place. Theres so much more, I could write a novel.Chinatown Thanks this. -
Time to move on. I saw a driver being bullied and he slammed the guy against the wall and said , "If you ever curse me again, I'll kill you." After that, the bully avoided him at all costs.
When another co-worker treats you with disrespect, tell him/her to "f^^off and get a life." -
yeah, it sure hurts my pride to leave so fast. im pretty sure this job just isnt meant to be. I dont have it in me to be mean, i got that out of me in my younger years. Though now that im planning my secret escape, ive spoken up a few times over the past few weeks. which leads to arguments to which my coworkers side with the person with more senority. Theres just no winning this battle, lol. some are nice, but others are targeting me or insult me for not having certain knowledge. it tis what it tis. my supervisors have been nothing but nice to me I will say. very clicky here, so if you keep to yourself as I do, you’re not gonna score any points with them.Chinatown Thanks this.

Were the trailers you pulled branded with the yrc lettering? I've never seen one.
-
i think they use yellow trailers. I rarely see old dominion or yellow trailers on the highway here.
-
Do you have a pic of a yellow reefer?
