Check with the front desk of the motel....ask if they have any blank ComData checks....if they do, get one and complete the blanks. Your ComData card number is the express code number, you need to call the 800 number to register the check....no worries they will walk you right through it....make the check out to you, and don't make it out for any more than what is available on the card...(info at same 800 number) The desk clerk will then call for an authorization code....and cash the check.
Our accounts were set up as, Company advances($75/WK) on the checking side and our payroll was the savings side. We could do our advances at an ATM if we wanted, you just ended up paying double the service charges(one to ComData and one to the ATM).
You don't have direct deposit into your bank account or an actual hard check? I don't think I've ever heard of a company with only Comdata as a payment vehicle for its drivers. Anyone else ever heard of this? Sounds odd to me
You can have up to $10,000 in the ComData card account...they have both debit and savings in their system...a bit more pricy than a regular bank...but interest in a bank ain't diddly squat so why bother....all in one card account, and private, the company cannot withdraw monies placed into ones personal ComData account.
I have gotten advances put on my Comdata card, and I have gone to 7-11 ATM's (and the like) to withdraw the money. And as far as I know, there is no limit as to when you need to get the cash out. Once it is in your Comdata account it is your money, pure and simple. And as far as I know, no one has the legal right to access/withdraw the money in your account - except for the account holder. I can't usually use the Comdata card for regular purchases, but it does work with most ATM machines - truck stop or not.
I didn't say you could't do it just that I've never heard of a company not either issuing a check or direct depositing a paycheck. the company also cannot go into your bank account and withdraw monies without your express consent. The Treasury Dept not to mention the FBI rather frown on this.
That is why I posted that...not to criticize or find error...just for the information to the OP (and others).
Yes, you can use your USA TRUCK COMDATA card at an ATM for advances. After you insert the card and enter your password you are presented with a checking or savings option. It's been 5 years but last I heard you choose the savings option.
