So the problem supposedly was the inner right trailer brake chamber. It has been replaced and everything seems fine now, but I'm still confused as to how a trailer brake chamber would cause my tractor brakes also to be locked.....

So the 3000 mile mark has eluded me since the second week of December but I got it last week!!! I'm really excited about this year especially my financial goals that I shouldn't have any problem accomplishing this year. I know that winter weather may continue to affect my weekly mileage in this first quarter of 2014 but I am hoping to still make progress toward my goals. Hopefully you guys are having a great beginning to the new year and as always stay safe please.

You were probably losing air pressure through your bad trailer brake chamber. Once the air pressure gets down around 60 psi, your brakes would apply. There are springs in your brake chambers that apply your brakes if there is not enough air pressure to oppose them.

I didn't have any apparent signs that I was losing air pressure or that I was low. Primary and secondary gauges were still around 125 psi. I didn't hear any leaks and I drove a couple miles before it happened. Very strange

Also since it was a bad chamber on the trailer, why did my drives lock up and not my trailer brakes

I was supposed to get a load out of Louisville to PA yesterday but the pickup schedule conflicted with my delivery appointment. Anyway this is the first time that I have sat for multiple days and I'm just chilling resting up for the new week. So my miles were affected but I'm not stressing about it.

These back pains aren't a joke. I asked the company to get me home from Salem, VA due to back pains and without any issue they allowed me to deadhead home to get better. I ended up taking off from the 22nd-27th. I was hoping to get health insurance for myself this year but I think I will hold off because my girlfriend and my daughters are insured. I'm thinking about marrying my girlfriend this year as the time seems right, our relationship is great, and trucking has given me the financial stability that I had been searching for. I'm also looking closely at driving for CATS in Charlotte but I have to do more research on it. If I do go that route, I know that it will give me the family time that I want/need.

    579 miles (Louisville, KY-Medina, NY)
541 miles (Buffalo, NY- Salem, VA)

Wow time is flying by. I cannot believe that it has been 3 weeks since I have updated my thread. Anyway these past weeks have been great as I've been back home once or twice every week and still getting decent checks!!! Company seems to be really putting in an effort to route me near Charlotte as much as possible and I'm loving it.
