Outer casing was from 2010 and the inner from 2011. I don't mind recaps on the trailer but now that this has happened my nerves are wrecked while driving now. The blowout keeps replaying in my head.

Things like that happen everyday. You may not have another for months or years.

Alright last week was officially my worst week of trucking but mileage wise will still be a decent check and I guess that can really put me at ease :)

    November 4-November 11(1976 total miles)
761 miles (Gaston, SC- Bethlehem, PA)
    1215 miles(Parsippany, NJ- Eagan, MN)

Winter certainly is nearing as I barely missed out on my first time driving in snow. Yesterday I was in Minnesota but snow hit Wisconsin and Illinois. The company states that we don't need snow chains so I guess that means that we shut down if conditions are too bad. We will see soon enough. I was thinking about buying Go-Claws if anyone has used them before please let me know if it's a good alternative to chains. I'm far from lazy but I just rather have something easier to mount than chains. I'm also still shopping around for a CB unit. I was thinking of buying a portable one but I just don't know yet. I will definitely be prepared as much as possible for my first winter as a trucker. So I'm finally back at the terminal and today I got a few minor things fixed but after I deliver in Chicago in the morning I will be back for the major services.

Miles still aren't at its best but I can't complain too much since I was able to do a restart back home. After I picked up in Addison, I spent a day and a half at the terminal getting the truck serviced. I cannot believe that Thanksgiving is next week. Time doesn't wait on anyone lol. Here are my miles for last week

    November 11-November 25(2178 total miles)
570 miles (Cold Spring, MN- Chicago, IL)
748 miles (Addison, IL- Charlotte, NC)
860 miles (Spartanburg, SC- Glastonbury, CT)

So I'm on a load that I picked up in Warner Robins, GA and I'm at home since it delivers tomorrow at 7pm in Latrobe, PA. I'm a little worried about the snow storm "Boreas" as it would be my first winter storm encounter in the truck. Yesterday I had two deliveries of chairs for restaurants one in Brunswick, GA and the other in Albany, GA. When I arrived to both places neither had equipment to unload my trailer. I ended up hand unloading 7 pallets for Brunswick and 4 pallets for Albany. They were shrink wrapped and there were 7 boxes on each pallet. Man I don't see how otr drivers can unload trailers. Anyway I will never do that again without pay stipulations which I'm still fighting the broker to pay me for unloading those. I hope to get back home for Thanksgiving but as stated earlier I'm worried about the snow storm. Miles for the week follows:

    November 18-November 25(2307 total miles)
614 miles (Northampton, MA- Clarksburg, WV)
557 miles (Stout Mills, WV- Highland, NY)
1136 miles (North Arlington, NJ- Brunswick, GA/Albany, GA)

So thanks to snow storm "Boreas" I experienced my first winter weather with both snow and ice. I woke up to snow in VA and ran with it up into PA where I ran into many icy conditions. I learned a lot from the experience and most importantly I made it safely back home for Thanksgiving. Next week on the 11th will be my 6th month as driver. Maybe a local or regional opportunity will present itself with equal or greater compensation but we will see. I am happy with the money that I make here and mostly I don't have too many complaints. My only issues have been with equipment so I'm sure I can stay here until I get a year experience which everyone says many doors open. Here are my miles from last week, pretty good considering that I spent a little time home for Thanksgiving:

    November 25-December 2 (2800 total miles)
821 miles (Warner Robins, GA- Latrobe, PA)
659 miles (Butler, PA- Greer, SC)
699 miles (Anderson, SC- New Columbia, PA)
621 miles (Lock Haven, PA- University Park, IL)
