This is his work place so make sure he is ok with anything you do. Don't take anything that can't be stuffed in a dufflebag and don't forget to keep enough bus money to get home.

Agree completely with the bus (plane)money. Something I told every trainee. You never know when something's going to happen at home and you need to be there right now.
I will be hopping on my boyfriend's truck soon and hope to be able to make the truck more comfortable for us to live in together. I will be honest and say the truck is a little, ok a lot, bland.
Can anybody give me ideas on how to make it better while not spending a boat load of money?
I have dreamcatchers and picture in frame that wife gave me for decorations I also have Tv, Microwave, Refrigerator. -
Don't load up on expensive stuff and make sure you can carry all the valuables to a hotel room (in case the truck breaks down and has to go in the shop).
12 volt appliances are not as reliable as 110 volt ones- truckstops are loaded with popcorn poppers, stoves, coolers, fans and everything for anything. They won't last long.
Nothing makes a truck more like home than a wife or girlfriend inside. My wife knits. You might like to bring some DVD's or books. And internet access, blogging is a great hobby.
Most of all, just have fun and enjoy the time together. See new stuff and relax. Get lots and lots of pics. -
Well this isnt a decoration but I wouldnt leave home without it. If you like to read, invest in a Kindle, an electronic book reader. I have over 230 books in my Kindle and it takes up very litte space, no bigger than a planner.

You can always put more chrome and lights on a truck.

This is from a person/driver who took a complete stripped down truck (had no lights -other than what was on the truck from the dealer- and put all the "chicken lights" and chrome on it myself) In order to properly address the question and problem I need some information.
1. What kind of truck is it?
2. How big is the sleeper? (36" or 63" or 70" or 72" or 86" <-- better known as a studio on a Kenworth)
3. What kind of budget?
4. What area does he run?
5. Is the passenger actually air ride or is it just a cover for more storage (like in a Volvo)
If you can answer those questions I will be happy to throw some ideas your way. -
Don't we already have a knitting truck driver somewhere? Could have sworn I heard him tell that to Dan Rather or someone that he knits in his off time....
