I know a lot of you drivers including me would love to know what type of work Boots & Gloves are comfortable to wear !! I personally hate when I'm standing and my feet start to hurt at the beginning of my day. I just left the freight business to pull tankers hauling Diesel ,gas and heating oil and wanted to know what type of boot is good and what types of Gloves to buy.
I always change Boots every couple of months and gloves until they wear down !! I also need a Boots that are slip resistant and just plain ol' comfortable so I don't have to buy sole pads for them. Gloves I already have the good orange pair that most Petroleum haulers wear. I also wear thermal socks during the winter because they're comfortable !!! Enough ranting. Lol.............. Oh Thanks in advance !!!!

Foot wear, I say spend the money and get a good pair of boots Red Wings, Florsheim etc. If they don't fit good or feel right at the store don't buy them. Gloves I get the regular old gray ones from Home Depot or Lowe's $1.50 a pair. I'm always leaving them someplace.

I agree with spending on good boots, I have a pair of Irishsetters that are about 10yrs. old and still in great shape,But I only use them in the winter. If I remember correct they cost around $250.

Hard to beat American made Danners for comfort,I live near the factory so I buy at their outlet store to get deals on seconds, usually just a scratch or something superficial so they're marked way down.
Great boots, super comfy and American made.

I spend about 14-15 hours a day wearing my boots..time is split between driving and standing outside while unloading cryogenic liquids..I have to have a good boot that is durable, comfortable ,resistant to chemicals and solvents and water proof ...I have tried many boots throughout the years the absolute best I have found are Thorogood boots ..union made, employee owned company in Wisc. www.weinbrennerusa.com they are not the cheapest but they are the best I have found..

for many years i would only buy Rocky boots I had great luck with them for years and they were made about 50 miles from my house in Nelsonville OH..after they sold out to a foreign company and shut down the factory in Nelsonville the quality of the boots went straight to he** I would not give a dollar for a dozen pairs of Rocky boots anymore( just my two cents)

I love my Danner boots as well. I just bought a pair of Danner hiking boots and was very disappointed to find out they were made in China.

I swear by Danner boots. Expensive but well worth the money and if you can find what you want in seconds (they have small factory defects so they have no warranty) they will be have price. But still brand new.

I also swear by the large leather gloves from Costco.
I buy real tight dirt bike riding gloves and use those as inserts. I then get x large Costco leather gloves.

I throw tires (about 2 full trailers a week to the tune of 800-1000 per trailer...you do the math)...so a pair will last 6 months (keep in mind I touch EVERY tire coming off my truck) then they are clear worn thru. But the inserts are like new. And my boots last well over a year. Don't leak, warm, and comfortable.

Hope this helps. Dry feet with steel toes and hands free of cuts and bruises makes me happy on the road.
