    Hello all.

It's been about 7 years since my last post. I left trucking for greener pastures and family life but through a long story, I need to return to the highways.

Luckily, I'm still qualified to come aboard with US Xpress as an experienced driver. I previously worked for Swift in 2013 and they didn't allow inverters or APUs. But I'm told by the recruiter at USX that they have inverters pre-installed on the truck.

Is this true? What wattage are they? Are they pure sine wave?

I'm eager to know if I can run a 700 watt microwave and a true, dual-zone fridge-freezer utilizing a compressor rather than thermoelectric Pelletiers. Ideally, I'd like one that fits in the cubby hole on a Cascadia (since that's what I'm told I'll be driving). Also, I'd much prefer if it was one that was upright like a normal fridge rather than a chest cooler where the door opens up. My end goal is to cook a bunch of food during my home time and freeze it (at home) so that I can just warm it up in my microwave. Healthier and cheaper... I'll be two weeks out at a time.

Taking suggestions for equipment that meets my wish list and any other general advice. Bonus points will be given to current USX drivers who respond. Haha

I run a dometic on 12v lighter plug, it’s a fridge/freezer combo and does a fine good job. Best in the market. Will keep things frozen and run for about 2 days when I’m not near my truck for my home time.

Truck still starts after 2 days.

As far as microwave your going to need an inverter for sure.

To be clear, it is dual zone in that you can have some things refrigerated and some things frozen? Also, is it upright? What size?

Man a lot has happened... They now have drivers who wear flip-flops and who cry when things get tough...

As far as the trucks not sure about U.S Express...

Thanks. Every video I've seen of this one shows it as a chest rather than a stand up. It also looks like it might not fit in a Cascadia refrigerator compartment...

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

I’m not sure but since I’m solo I removed the jump seat and it’s sitting here next to me. Left me more space to use for other things in fridge place.

I'm a company driver. I can't do something quite that drastic. No, I really need a stand-up version.
