As some commenters have pointed out in long-established threads that list companies with them, for example this one
Companies currently using driver cameras...
seeing companies listed somewhere as not having them would also be valuable.
So let's start naming them. One company I can name is Heartland Express, which prohibits drivers from using any outward- or inward-facing cameras in their trucks.

That doesn't sound like a good thing.... you can't even use a dashcam for your own protection?
Tb0n3 and jammer910Z Thank this. -
That's correct. I had an in-person conversation on the subject with a couple fleet managers at their Tacoma terminal (used to be Interstate Distributor's) in early September. Without explicitly acknowledging it, the reason they gave hinted that the company must have lost a lot of money in court at some point due to having cameras in their trucks.

Someone tried using a recording that showed something they should have noticed but didn't.
-
When a company gets sued, I doubt they have the final say about what gets presented in court and what doesn't.

For the record, I’m pro outward facing cameras.
My problem is with inside facing cameras, especially in sleepers.
I was forced to deal with it while driving a day cab. I got used to it and never got popped for any violations but I’d still rather not have one in a sleeper truck. Just my .02ronjeremyjr, Tb0n3, MrEd and 1 other person Thank this. -
Depends on how good the opposing lawyer is ... When dash cams first started coming out there would be postings on the internet where a 4 wheeler would hit a truck, clearly the 4 wheeler violated the trucks space ...
Except often you could see the accident coming. It's almost seems like the dash cam was giving a sense of rightousnes to the truck driver to allow an accident, instead of avoiding it.foggy Thanks this. -
Just smile really wide while you're flogging the bishop

I had one try and bait me about 2 weeks ago, flew by at 70 on a 55 mph freeway only to come over in front of me and slow down to 45, obviously an attempt to goad me in to tailgating him so he could brake check me. Unfortunately for him I was taking the next exit in a 1/2 mile. As soon as I hit the exit lane he floored it.
I said “gee, imagine that”.
jammer910Z Thanks this. -
Hahaha, nope, I found a home, and no cameras at allfoggy Thanks this.
