    Now it is used to fire drivers to keep a good turnover in staffing to keep pay on the low end of the scale. Hope enough companies lose lawsuits over their own cameras to make them regret it;

    As I said before. I'm now a motorcoach driver and where I currently work doesn't have them, but in the bus world I can kind of accept an inward facing camera due to the human element. In a truck however, and especially an OTR truck, no dice. I'm fine with an outward facing camera, but not a driver facing one.

    Agreed. I made a dashcam out of an old phone and it saved my butt. One time a driver tried to push me off I-74 I showed the video to the IN trooper and they caught the driver just down the road. Spoiled his day the SOB.

    Now as for REAR facing, that's another story. When my ex-company implented dashcams I protested, joking telling my dispatcher "Dude, you don't want to see me naked". He told me they only did event recording. Turns out they recorded all the time including sound. THEY LIED, IMAGINE THAT. Found out through a coworker when they challenged his unemployment. If I see Pornhub videos of me screwing a hooker in my sleeper I'm going to be PISSED! I want royalties!!!

    Seriously though, having spent four decades in Information Technology I would never trust ANY company, especially trucking companies whose employees have minimal tech experience, poor installation abilities due to juggling other crises, and the voyeuristic tendancies that most humans have. I've already turned down one job because of rear facing cameras. You have to draw the line somewhere. That one is mine.

    Seems like this thread hasn't succeeded in it's original intention...

    Mods, why not just grab the latest and most current list of companies that ARE USING driver facing cameras, and pin it to the top of the sub-forum page?

    Either this thread is dieing, or Heartland is the only company that DOESN'T have inward facing cameras.

    I don't use them. I advocate that everyone have a forward facing cam though, but it's not mandatory either.

    None, what I meant is sleeper trucks as opposed to a day cab
