    Italics added.

I thought that was obvious. A company will not do anything that it can't justify on the bottom line. They are all FOR-PROFIT. But a $70 cam + $100 off the insurance bill = $$ in their pockets.

Posted this in another thread. Worked for a small company, about 60 trucks.... Has a front and rear facing dash cam with gps, and all kinds of read right from the truck computer stuff. It knows your speed from the computer. It starts and stops recording when the parking brakes are released/set. Those cameras are running around $900 bucks each. That's $54,000. Hope they got a hell of a discount on the cameras or the insurance.....

Maverick only has forward facing. Not driver facing. When they have driver, I'll quit.
If it becomes federal regulation, I'll learn to do something else for a living. Not a problem personally. I'm not married to this industry. I like it. I respect it, but I'm not sticking around for more nonsense than already exists.

Just heard my former company that I started with, USA Truck, is having them installed in all trucks soon. Many trucks are already testing them. Front and driver facing.

That's EXACTLY what I told my wife the other day. So far, my company has neither driver nor forward facing cameras.

Just like everything else in technology. It's all growing so fast you can't keep up with it or know what the hell is going on before it's too late.

Don't think you can go get a job in an office when drivers are completely monitored. The author of this article expects this monitoring system to be in a majority of offices within 3-4 years. They say it will be voluntary, yeah, right. Don't expect to get a raise or promotion if you don't participate.

The difference is I could take the ID Badge off when I leave work. That Camera is in my home when I am parked.

Still, this is all becoming way to Orwellian. Might be time to move to Belize.

Within the next three years, we'll all be on elogs, running the same speed (probably 65), and have cams on us.
    Co and O/O's
