I've driven for several companies over the past 25 years, most good and a few bad, including 4 1/2 months with Eagle Express Lines during the winter of 17-18 out of North Las Vegas. It's a circus of a company...by far the poorest-managed one I've ever driven for.

Thank you, that is the first thing that stood out to me. "We are excited". Well "We" drivers aren't. I just hope you will be excited to fill a lot of empty seats when they are installed. It's not a company with a majority of first year drivers.
It's the brain child of the head safety person at Hoovestol. I talked to her months ago about this. In my opinion she has a warped reasoning for justifying their installation.

This is like being " excited " for a colonoscopy. Like we are all stupid. Oh yes I am sure the cubicle dweller head of safety knows what it's like living in a truck with a camera staring at you 24/7. Cover it up they say..nope. Heard too many threats and horror stories. Coaching purposes?? No thanks. I would have to quit a company.with driver facing ..not happenin.

Groendyke is running 90 day pilot programs in Kansas City and Phoenix. Should be finished soon. From my take on the tenor of the Senior VP, some form of inward-facing (and other directions) cameras will be installed/turned on (since inward facing cameras appear to already exist in GTI trucks) on all GTI trucks in the near future. With all the lawsuits trucking company's pay out, even when innocent, I can understand the companies stance. The SrVP claims the cameras will only record by a "triggering event" such as sudden stop or collision. Also, footage will (only) be monitored in cases of complaints received by motorists. This is more or less what I gathered from the video the Sr VP sent out on 7/29/19, may not be an exact description... It would require too much time to dictate the video verbatim.

The Hooves keep buying other postal companies, so this misery will likely spread if she isn't stopped.

It always starts the same, trial programs and pointless justifications, then they turn them on... After that is whether they pass the intelligence test or not. Just ask SAIA
