Following distance is a joke in the north east urban areas. You leave a truck length between you and the truck in front of you at 60 and I can guarantee two cars will fill that gap.

Oh, slow down and widen the gap? Sure, repeat as needed until I’m basically stopped. Might as well sit on the side of the road until the roads are completely empty.

Ironically, I’m injured, I had an accident, I’m out for 2 months on workmen’s comp.

Camera didn’t see anything though, because I fell outside of the truck. (Twisted ankle). Camera wasn’t much help when I pulled myself into the truck either. I had to call 911 all by myself. Might have got a lot of colorful language recordings while I waited for the ambulance.

Come to think of it, wasn’t much help for the last injury either.

Probably be a much shorter list listing companies that don't use driver facing cameras.

    Murphy’s Law.

Rather make an occasional sacrifice to the knuckle gods then face the rollover-fatality demon.

This is interesting because as a small carrier / OO who is getting ready to bring on OOs i can see the benefit of both views but personally would hate to have a driver facing camera in my truck. One that looks at the road can save both the driver or OO and company alot of headaches and money if fault can be provenbto be elsewhere. I think i would want my OOs to have the forward facing camera to save both our ##### if it could and let them cover the one facing them.

There are good camera systems out there that only have front and sometimes side-rear views. Better to have one of those than have a front and driver facing system to begin with.
