I know every one goes to companies for different reasons.Cant stop people from going to Swift and the like.I'm just saying if companies keep having drivers come on at a low CPM and they stay their for more than two year it hurts everyone. If a company advertised, come here for 3000 miles a week.My 1st question would be at what CPM.If I'm making .50 cpm base. Then with all the excesseral pay added puts me at .65CPM and I do 2500 miles per week.I don't have to do 3000 miles.I'm only sharing what is possible.Thats what I come on here for is to learn what others a doing and see if I can do better.See when I started at .15 CPM 24 years ago I did not stay their.Every driver That had time I would ask them what was great about there gig.I was telling a driver the other day that was thinking of going with TMC not to forget about McElroy Truck Lines for example. They start students at .44 CPM base, home every weekend. And 63% of their loads are pre loaded and pre tarped. They have good excesseral pay to.But If 3000 mile makes you happy

I would not want to hurt anyone's feelings by wanting to share what is possible.Thats how I got to where I'm at.I'm interested in lots of things.I think car haulers are cool, tankers look interesting.I no van freight is where most start but you dont have to stay their.Get out there.Their are lots more money to be made.Any newbe can do cheap van freightMictrucking Thanks this.

It's neither the cents per mile or the miles per week... It's the combo... And the environment that I seek...
Tell me I will make 75 CPM ... Ok great, but how many miles do I get? CPM is just one piece of the puzzle... for me I guess.
To each his own... Stay Safe. -
Again, you are coming off just a bit condensing... (Just giving feedback) ... If people are employed and happy earning a living where they are... where they are and happy with the big picture... So be it... If they wish to make a change for whatever reason ok too... Megas are going no place in the near future so why condemn new drivers for opting to start their career there... It might just be a step up in their person path ... And they are either growing professional or investing a year there to then find better options, such as you present...
But, maybe I am just reading your comments wrong. -
I have heard that at some companies if you get a weekly guarentee, it is more like a loan. If you are under, they pay you thr differance, but keep a balance on your record. When you are over guarentee they deduct the differance until you are even. Is this true?

I bet some company does it... Kind of like "level power bill"... Consistent payments but might bite you at times. Or a payday loan.ajohnson Thanks this.

What does it really matter how I come off.I'm sorry I keep offending you.You don't have to read my take. It's not the most boring take on here and at least I'm giving a view point and not looking to gripe for no reason.I see a lot of unhappy people at the mega carriers. That is the reason they have100% turn over.Never condemned anyone.Just want drivers to expect more and not settle for low CPM.If a driver wants to drive 3000 miles at .38 making $1140 when he could do 2591 miles at .44 CPM and make $1140. More power to him. Some settle to long at a carrier and don't know of the opportunities they could have if the moved out of their comfort zone. Some people are coming into this industry with no clue.Thinking this is going to be BJ and the Bear or Smokie and the Bandit.Or if your younger Ice road truckers. Now don't worry how I come off be happyMictrucking Thanks this.

Not offended in the least... Just feedback.

First hand experience.
Call these companies that have "requirements" talk to them and majority of them will make exceptions. Many companies wanted x amount experience but a clean record will go a long way.
Just my ..... 8 months 2 cents.
Oh...and listen to these guys on here.MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this.
