So, Millis just approved me. Anyone here have experience with or thoughts on them? Are they good company? Do they really have the OTR miles avail to keep me moving? Any insight is appreciated.

Without commenting on your MVR, not every company is a company worth working for. The companies that will hire people with too much bad stuff in their background know you have few options and some will take advantage of that "desperation." The more difficult the working conditions at a trucking company the more likely it is you quit trucking. It's one thing to think "I'll put up with almost anything." It's another to not get home for 3 times longer, paid much less , and have more breakdowns than you expected on top of the stress of being surrounded by bad drivers and be in cities you have never been to before. Know before you go. Talk to current drivers at any company before you work for them.

Millis is generally considered safe and and a good place to learn the job. I don't know if that reputation has changed recently. Make the company put you in contact with current working drivers at Millis so you can ask them questions, like money, miles, equipment quality, can you idle, do trucks have APUs and inverters and other upgrades, etc..

Every CDL school will find someone to make a loan for school. Half of the companies have Tuition Reimbursement that pays a certain amount each pay period in addition to your earned wages. Some companies only pay TR if you have a school loan, not if you paid cash. Ask about a company's Tuition Reimbursement details.

Thanks for the insight on questions to ask! These are things someone, like me, not already in the industry may think of.

Well, Stevens Transport just called me back and offered as well. So Millis is .44 cpm but they dont seem to want to say any sort of mileage, and I get that this can vary depending on the driver, but I would like to know if anyone knows what kind of miles I will get there.

Stevens on the other hand is .50 cpm and they say to expect 2500-3000 weekly miles to be available and the norm.

So anyone with experience running with ine or both of these with advice on which may be a better option, in your opinion of course.

Millis is dry van. Stevens is reefer. There is a ton of wasted time pulling reefers, not to mention the problem of sleeping with a reefer unit cranking away a foot from your head.
