My truck also has the In-Cab PerformX and I've found it waaaay over estimates the MPGusually to the tune of +.5 MPG or more. If the display says 6.4, I can check it after I fill up and it'll be 5.9 actual. I reset mine on a weekly basis.
My actual MPG ranges from a low of 5.7 to a high of 6.75... depends mostly on how much idle time I have and how much two-lane driving I do. Driving 70-72 doesn't seem to affect the MPG as much as idle time does although most of the time I'll set the cruise at 62.
A few days ago, I checked the mileage from Montgomery to Houston and then back to Gulfport, MS... 5.71 mpg. I attribute the crappy fuel mileage to a couple of things:
1. Idle time on this trip was kind of highI try not to do Baton Rouge while the sun is up, hence I stop on one side or the other and sleep during the day, needing to run the air conditioner so as not to cook myself alive.
2. I normally shut the truck off after the sun goes down, but... I accidently let the truck run for 8 hours while having an extended nap in Breaux Bridge, LA. I guess I must have been enjoying the arctic temp in the cab and didn't wake up to shut the engine off. When I woke up at 3 am, three penguins and a family of polar bears had taken up residence in the truck.![]()

uhhhhmmm what day is it??? lol -
Just a random thought on MPG and how the government works. 70 mph for 11 hours is 770 miles......high fuel cost. 55 mph for 14 hours is 770 miles .....lower fuel cost. Do you think there is a reason for the way the law is written?

My first truck at my company was an 05 Volvo, with an ISX.
I figured the fuel on that truck the whole time I was in it on paper. It averaged 7.5 MPG over the 85,000 miles I drove it. Then it was due for trade in.
If I knew where it was traded too I would consider buying it. Accept the fact that it is a really ugly truck. All the main things that break around year 4 and 500k miles were already replaced on that truck, as well as a new front suspension. I was not even trying that hard to keep it down, and that was coast to coast with heavy refer loads.
