Good luck to you. I feel the same. Right now, it is just not for me. Maybe down the road.

I think you guys are passing up money by not doing the lease. Without having any recruits I always figured anything over 1000 miles I take home $1.00 a mile for the week.

    2300 miles = $1300
    2500 miles = $1500
    3000 miles = $2000
    3300 miles = $2300

As a company driver at I think it is .36 a mile to start

    2300 miles = $828
    2500 miles = $900
    3000 miles = $1080
    3300 miles = $1188

Just that difference in one good week makes up for taking a whole week off plus you don't have to follow their routing system and fuel stops.

I agree its better money but for now I cant just commit to running for a solid month or more. I have a family at home and 2 granddaughters that I try to see as much as possible. After going company for a while if it looks like I could commit to a L/P then perhaps I will but I think the smart thing to do is to start out as a company driver and get a feel for the company. I just dont jump into black holes and hope for the best. I would rather know that there is a light at the other end if you know what I mean.

I agree it is better money, but with my family situation, I don't want to be locked into a 3 year or longer lease. If things change, I would do it.

Been a few days. I loaded out of KC and went to St. Bernard, OH. Deadheaded to Alexandria, IN and picked up a load going to Des Moines, IA for a same day delivery.

Deadheaded to Henry, IL and picked up going to Danville, VA. Loaded at the same place and heading to Terrell,TX for Thursday.
