So I’ve been heavily leaning towards joint the industry. My dads been a driver for years I used to go on trips all the time as a kid and think It would be cool to holler at him on the CB a couple times before he gets out of the business. I’ve been looking at Wel companies because i see their trucks all the time in Florida. Chinatown also suggested FFE, SRT, Freymiller, MCT Comcar, May Trucking, and Abilene Motor. If anyone could give me some insight on these companies I would greatly appreciate It. Trying to avoid a “mega” carrier as much as possible.

I imagine some of those companies have put a hold on training.

@Vic Firth i wasn’t really planning on going into school until after all this pandemic stuff eases up. Just trying to gain as much information on companies as I can
Vic Firth Thanks this. -
There’s a few FFE drivers here that seems happy, @TravR1 WEL has been around for a long time and they have a decent reputation. Kottke out of Minnesota might be an option for you.ThomasTrucker21 Thanks this.

Do you know if they take recent grads? I’ll be attending Tampa truck driving school as of right nowVic Firth Thanks this.

Just make sure it's not the one at the fairgrounds that only trains in automatics. Also ffe has it's own School.ThomasTrucker21 Thanks this.

If you’re referring to Kottke they did at one time, give them and all of the companies you’re interested in a call. Find out which schools they prefer you to attend, In my opinion that’s the best way to proceed. Most wont require you to live near a terminal and they should help you find a safe place to park your truck.ThomasTrucker21 Thanks this.

Isn’t the school located in Texas? Or do they multiple?
-
They've several locations
ThomasTrucker21 Thanks this.
