A third route to take is to find a local company. One that may start you on class B trucks or similar.
Then after a time, they may train for class A. That is how I got my license. I'm also not OTR. I'm home in my own bed most nights, unless asked to over night on a route.
I was paid while I trained, I am not tied to them for a 12 month contract for the training. It worked out.
But it might not be acceptable to some of the mega's who live by their insurance carriers yay or nay.

Do we consider public community college as private schooling?

If CC is considered private, than the fact that allot are raising being private cost more than company, I dont see because the cost for my company school is like 3500, and you still pay about 1300 of that back in payroll reduction.

With CC private, the cost is about 1000 or more and you get paid more with a company that hires new license holders.

Of course that is if you have the money to pay for CCollege "private" schooling
