I just checked my contract and it does not say anything about damaged equipment. I told them if they would've told me that I'd be responsible for damage to the truck, I wouldn't have taken the job or I would've got my own insurance. I'm an average joe driver with practically no money. I can't afford to get my own truck insurance.
    Thanks

I told them that I'd pay for either half the deductible thinking that the damage was about $500. Deductible is $1000.

Actually, it seems the only slithering seems to be from slime-ball employers which you support. Perhaps you are one? That's what insurance is for. Don't like it? Don't own trucks and/or don't have drivers.

No! I'm not an employer. I'm a poor truck driver trying to support my family. I agree with your insurance comment.
    Thanks

It's just the step on driver side and it's not much damage at all.
It's just the step on driver side. The pressure thing is true and I won't slander, but I willonly tell the truth.
    Thanks

My reference to employers was regarding the blame being immediately cast on drivers in general and you specifically. I operated a small fleet of oilfield/heavy haul trucks and we treated all our drivers with respect and expected the same from them. If a driver was a problem we got rid of them. We didn't try and put any of the company's responsibilities, financial or otherwise, on the driver's shoulders. I can't stand companies that do that.

Another one running illegal, acting like the company made him(perceived pressure), broke sh it now wants to know if he's getting screwed.
How do you not know? And how do you not know what you signed? That is mindblowing. All these people wait for sh it to happen before they figure out what there signed. Unreal. Not enough downtime to read what you signed? I hope others learn from this. And the other ten thousand times this same thing has been posted. Come on people, DUE DILIGENCE!!!!

I know what I signed and due diligence requires to read it over again to cover bases
