That explains why the company contacted my daughter this morning about the
benefits that Daniel set up for her and the boys in case somethings should ever happen. But thanks for your input.

That's good news. I'm glad that they finally contacted her and things are rolling. Please give her my condolences from the entire staff here at TTR.

I most certainly hope that things go smooth for you all from here on out. :yes2557:

Hello. I drive food grade tanker for a competitor of LTI, and I was on 139 a few days before his accident. That grade into Susanville is a nasty one. I have a friend that lives in Susanville, and she notified me right when it happend, and I went on the CHP incident page and watched the conversations between the officers and dispatch, and the officers even said it was very bad. I'm sorry for your loss.

I would like to share some information about Milky Way, a division of LTI, Inc., on behalf of Daniel and his parents. I am Daniels first cousin and I was there later in the evening after Daniels parents and Susan got this terrible news. Daniels father also drives for Milky Way, driving the same routes as Daniel did. As soon as their immediate supervisor got confirmation of the death he personally visited Daniels parents and Susan. In the days following, I personally know Milky Way called Daniels father to offer assistance. The first thing they did was pay for transportation of Daniel back home. I know that the President, Vice-President, and Operations Manager flew from Lynden Washington to attend the funeral. The Head Truck Maintenance man, who knew Daniel personally, was also flown from Moses Lake, Washington to attend. In addition, the District Manager, who also knew Daniel personally, drove from Tangent, Oregon to attend. Milky Way also provided drivers from Sunnyside, Washington to cover all 7 routes so Daniels immediate co-workers could attend the funeral. I would like to personally thank Milky Way for the outpouring of compassion and support shown to my Uncle, his family, and Susan on Daniels behalf.

Thanks Dan's Cuz for the update. It is a shame that so many find a marriage license an unneeded piece of paper when here we can see how much that paper would have meant to this mans family. Blaming the company won't bring this young man back but hopefully we will all learn to have things in order in the event any of us leave this world out on the road. I too am sorry for the loss to this family.

I am sorry for your families loss. Legality aside, its not what matters anyway...... money, blame, compassion or lack there of will never replace what is now missing. We never understand why someone was taken from us or why God allows certain events to take place, but please know that our ways are not that of the Lords and our timing is certainly not his. Perhaps the Lord looked down Daniels path and saw something far worse and took him home now, perhaps Daniel fulfilled his purpose? Our carnal minds cannot grasp all things "God", but ask him to comfort you and please be bold. John 5:36, be not afraid, only believe.. and call upon me in the day of trouble and I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
Everything we go through in one way or another is to bring us closer to Christ. If you believe as you say Daniel did, then you know this body, this world is not our home. We are sojourners and exiles......... just passing through.

    klacorrie Thanks this.

Thank you gontime and dujo. Daniel will be missed. He was a good man and a hard worker who adored his entire huge family.. Please be careful out on those roads everyone. I would hate for anymore family members to get a visit with terrible news like Daniels parent and girlfriend got.

There are five stages of grief, depending on which model you look at. The first stage is denial. Second, anger. Third, bargaining. Fourth, depression and fifth, acceptance.

What I see here is a healthy second stage of the grieving process. I, for one, am honored this lady chose to share it with us.

Madam, I am sorry for your loss and that of your daughter, the young man's father, his kids and Cousin Dan. He was obviously a really great guy to have so many people care for him so much.

May the Grandmothers wrap all of you in the warm blanket of comfort and solace.

inkeper, Medic10, Hitman and 1 other person Thank this.
