The ones you NEVER see running with original lettering removed, due to resale.
Theres a few that come to mind.I have never seen a Dart trailer retired to an
auction so some o/o can drag it around for a few more years.
Most LTL outfits run em till they get crashed out.
Same with tractors. If I don't see some tractors being used to pull logs by
some poor guy, then you know its used up.
Southeastern comes to mind. They use those trucks up good.
Celadon seems to sale em in good shape.I have one now I use,and several
    others in our fleet.
These are just examples,so don't nobody jump on me.Im sure theres exceptions

I'll see your Dart nomination, and raise you a Wiley Sanders unit. A couple of years ago, I would have dropped Schneider in with this lot, but they've been investing quite a lot recently in both trucks and trailers.

I recently hauled a retired Knight trailer.. That thing was trashed. I'm surprised the recaps didn't blow on the way to TX with 44k in the box

Recently worked for a company with trailers that were registered in '77, '78, etc.
I asked the manger if they couldn't get a better rate on "Antique Tags". He didn't think that was too funny.
Bottom line, they mostly came from new england area and of course salted to high heaven in the winter and never cleaned underneath.
Had to keep a close eye on the air line spring hangers (several broke off on me), lost a lever for the sliders (heard this ting, ting as I was driving). Kept an eye on suspension parts and had a brake chamber fall off one time.
So he says "We're gonna do some backhauls for Pepsi", well they always load to the max and I said I wouldn't use their rust buckets. He rented some trailers from a co in balto and they were just a little younger.
Eventually they subbed out the trucking and I was hired by the "Logistics" company lol (everyone is now a "logistics" company. there's only a few "trucking" outfits left). The first thing they did was get rid of all those old trailers.

Not gonna mention their name here, but they make kitchen cabinets. I'm glad I made a change.

    BUMBACLADWAR Thanks this.
