It may not be common knowledge of some drivers being treated this way, but it happens. no company is perfect. There were supposed to be new Cacadias for the driver trainers. They got farmed out to other drivers. There was a rash of maintenance issues where available trucks went to established drivers. Now things are turning around agin. I had nothing to gain by telling I've waited three weeks. Stuff happens. Just a little frustrated. I pick up my truck tommorrow 11/21/2010. Looking forward to running as many miles I can. For the most part Maverick is a good company. I chose them being fresh out of driving school because of reputation, and starting pay for a new driver. By the grace of God all will work out ok. Never under estimate the power of prayer. Everyone have a great Thanksgiving. Be safe out there.

I believed what you were telling to be true! Glad you are getting your truck. Just take your time and do not be in a hurry for anything.
If you talk on the phone, only do it when you are stopped or on the freeway away from congestion.
Yes Prayer does work! God Bless! -
Hiring brand new, fresh out of school types speaks volumes for maverick. Combine that w/automatic transmissions, super single tires and governed at way less than most state's posted speed limits certainly should attract the very cream of the crop drivers.
Driving jobs may be difficult to find but apparently being a driver for maverick is nothing exceptional.
Sounds like an entry level position at best- -
trucks are governed to 65, the truck speed limit nearly everywhere, some trucks are 70 if your fuel milage is good and 60 if it sucks. I don't see where autoshift and super singles have anything to do with anything, but I guess most "supertruckers" are above all that.

After 6 months I was making .41 cents a mile. Compare that with any other company for a new driver.
A friend of mine after three years at Rhoel, he is making .36
It is clear you have no idea what in the world you are talking about!larry5853, GoalieDon, BusDriver and 1 other person Thank this. -
Also, driving a stick and floating the gears does not make you a better professional driver than someone who drives an automatic.
It is getting the freight there safely and on time and being professional around the customer that makes you a professional truck driver.
And what is up with super singles? They give you better mileage...did you get denied super singles when you were a child or something.
I get it! You are another one of these know it all truckers that post negative comments all the time on this and other posts. Probably to help make up for some other short coming that you have in your life.
You probably are also like the ones I hear on the cb that have the answers to everything and anything!
Get a life why don't you!
I am taking my over $1000.00 a week, entry level check to the bank every week....and I can do it because I get home almost every weekend like clockwork!notarps4me, Bishop73, jondun and 5 others Thank this. -
Entry level position---yes, "at best"--well, you haven't a clue. I chose this company fresh out of driving school for the 41 cpm I started at 2 1/2 years ago. I have gotten the training, and have 24/7 available resources to allow me to be "at best" in everything I do. You show me a company that demands professionalism, treats me with respect, holds me accountable for my actions, gets me home time when I request, AND pays 50 cpm after 2 1/2 years---I MIGHT consider leaving Maverick. (Well, that and because I might be getting too old for all this physical work!!
larry5853, BusDriver and notarps4me Thank this. -
