Just because you don't like the answer, doesn't mean the answer isn't creditable.
Plus you were in the wrong anyway, why keep pushing it?
Completely empty, headed to residence, on PC

Still no numbers. Lol talk about "pushing it"
The dude said he keeps an eye on his PC so it doesn't "jump out" in an audit. What is the limit? 10 hours? 20 hours?
Take all the time you need. -
Just because you don't like the answer that there is no hard numbers, doesn't mean it's an invalid answer. All it means is you don't like the answer.Farmtractor9900, Sirscrapntruckalot, God prefers Diesels and 1 other person Thank this.

There is no limit. If you want to use your truck to take your fishing boat camping, and it's 500 miles away, should there be a limit? PC is just that, you're using your truck as your personal conveyance.D.Tibbitt, Roberts450, Dockbumper and 4 others Thank this.

why no citation? I drove the rest of the way on PC. No problem
The issue is that some of you more submissive types don't mind that the 2-ton elephant in the room is left up to the interpretation of thousands of officers. If the officer doesn't like the way you look you get cited -
Every law is left up to the officer on what he wishes to enforce. That's just life, and has been since very likely the first officer came into being. Same reason for no citation. The officer didn't want to bother.
It doesn't make what you did legal. It just means you got away with running illegally.Farmtractor9900, Wasted Thyme, God prefers Diesels and 1 other person Thank this. -
hogwash. if the speed limit is 70 and the officer decides to not cite you for 73, that's one thing. In the case of PC, there is no documented limit, so it's a huge grey area. An officer could cite you for 30 minutes or 30 hours. Doesn't seem right to me.
"you got away with running illegally" how could I be illegal if there is no defined limit?alds, Roberts450 and TokyoJoe Thank this. -
I already posted why you were illegal. Time limit doesn't matter for what you did. DOT states you cannot unload and then go home on PC. Doesn't matter if you or I agree with it, and as it happens I don't. What matters is it's not allowed, and pretty black and white not allowed. No interpretation needed.
Same thing here as your speeding example. The officer decided not to enforce the very clear guidance on this.
1 minute or 100 hours doesn't matter as any use of PC for going home after unloading isn't valid, thus not legal.Last edited: Apr 25, 2021

The company I’m leased on with as an O/O ( not sure if they have the same rules for company drivers ? ) have told me that I can PC home as long as
A) I am not stopping for fuel
B) Plan to be home at least 34 hours and
C) do not have a load booked that’s near my home
If I’m delivered and close on hours I will PC home
If I have the time and plan to be home the 34 then I just let the clock runDieselboss, alds and Timin770 Thank this.
