The truth is that galaxy 98vhp has been around for quite awhile now. When they first came out they were probably a good/better built radio.from what I remember techs were turning them up too much and were burning up the mosfets in them. Now theyve been so mass produced the quality of the radio and work involved building them is probably sub par at best. Steel Rods told me they sold 2 in 2 weeks and had not sold any before that for about a year. They also told me they bias the mosfets and get 575 watts out of the radio.
component specs?

I'd still rather have a 94.
But to be certain, of all the Galaxy radios with built-in amps, the 95T2 blows them all out of the water. Dare I say the best they've ever made.
And it shows. They haven't been discontinued for that long, but you can't find any second hand... people don't let go of them once they have them.
edit:// 575 watts out of 8 520s... that'd be not terribly unlike pushing my DX 86V to almost 150W. I call BS...they're pushing those things to almost double their rated output.Last edited: May 7, 2017
bored silly Thanks this. -
THATS my thought exactly total b.s. 575 watts....but I didn't say or call them out on it.

At least this thing still uses bipolar transistors.
With a proper tune this thing would dominate the airwaves.
kind of hard to beat the price at $649.

One could always swap its amp board into a 98 if they were dead set on having a 98.
It sure is pretty, can't deny that.bored silly and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
Problem I've heard with the N4 and FB4 is they don't do well with the vibrations a Big truck has. I don't know that for sure but different techs seem to say that.

easier to hook a small radio up to that and have that hidden underneath your bunk and be incognito -
That makes sense that's a good price on that linear. And it'll give you the same power the N4 has with probably a lot less hassle if the N4 Does have issues with vibration
-
If you're gonna spend more than $400 (on a Texas Star), might as well shell out an extra $70 and get a DX 667V.
-
Guess so I spent double that over the $400 +add $200 to that. It's to each his own a 500 watt linear is probably all that's needed though...... it's like antenna and coax if it's not all matched up correctly it's worthless............
