if you a plug in converter for lighter and a laptop with usb ports, plug a home printer into the laptop , down load the printer softwear, and fire up the printer, and print your logs off ,:biggrin_2554:

what i did 10 years ago was a 140 watt inverter. that was as big as they came back then. and they WEREN'T cheap.

then i bought a power strip. the inverter had one plug but the power strip/surge protector gave me 5 plugs.

it had my cell phone, tv, satellite, laptop, and printer all plugged into 14o watts. had no problems.

plugging the printer into laptop isn't the problem. y ou still need power to the printer.

In my last truck I had a 1000W inverter. I got a lazer printer and POP. Man those things use a lot of power.

Current ink jet all-in-ones now use next to nothing. Even when scanning. Seen guys using 150w inverters for this.

    Gotta love technology.

I'm looking at using a small note book laptop not a full size and I'm making my own stand. Don't like the ones I've seen on line too big, make the pass seat useless, anybody go this route? Any ideas greatly appreciated.

i have space behind the pass seat where my laptop sits.

if i wasn't using it for gps i could see needing the thing. but since it's turned off. there's no need for a mount. if i want to use in my truck. i simply tilt the steering wheel up. and use that for a base.

i'm in the market for either an android, or netbook. as i would rather pack something smaller inside when i have a meal. i like to surf the internet. but sometimes i do business stuff so i guess i better stick with a netbook.

I did a stand and never used it. Will remove it when I redo the floors this spring. I thought I was going to use it for GPS but then once you see the position you realize how unsafe it is.

I hang laptop bag over arm rest of passenger seat and grab it and place on steering wheel when needed.
