I have the printer, just need the notebook, pick that up next week, then decide which software to do, dont need anything fancy, just log book and print, EASY TO USE is the main requirement.

OK, snowy, gave that program a real shot today. Not sure if it is because I have use DDL for so long or what but I just got frustrated. I was really hoping it would be super easy because DDL takes a bit to learn for drivers if they are not computer savey.
I think with the few programs that are available that the issue is that the market is just not what we would think. Both DDL and Lomis are using 2005 (or earlier) programming technology.
Frustrated - I REALLY want a modern program that is not position for EOBR market.bbblotliz Thanks this. -
it's all right there under the NEW button. i just use the duty status link.
i've got something else for my accounting. but i might start playing around with TL for accounting.
the rest of the features just take your time. no big hurry to learn as it's nothing to do with dot.
the thing that pissed me off was getting the software to stay in black mode so i could print my logs and insprection reports in black. i bought a new laptop and just formatted the pc. so i had 2 fresh installations.
when you click under file in the top left corner. then print logs. you get the calendars. above the calendars i have logs 019 and dvir 015. that's the format i use for my logs and inspections. then you click on the color circles and change the color. mine is black. drag your mouse over the dates and the blue line is how many days get printed.
on the left of screen is settings. click and you get hos. it's default for 60/7. you select 70/8 and 34 normal restart.
the rest is just a matter of playing around when you get a chance. -
Yeah, I was hoping that it would be as simple as point and click then type in location and maybe some details. I need a program that someone that hates computers can pick-up and use.
The "just play around" thing is fine for me but not a new driver. So if I have to provide phone support on a program it is going to be with one I have use for over 5-years.
But I keep looking. Hoping for a tablet based one soon.
BBBbbblotliz Thanks this. -
I had tried DDL a while back. I didn't even like that one. just didn't seem like it was worth time or hassle. I know, old and set in my ways. lol. actually i'm not old but I am set in my ways. Now i'm on E logs so it doesn't much matter i reckon
-
make him buy his own program. LOL.
my company didn't tell me what i could use. i just told them i'm not doing paper.
what cracks me up is when they issue the monthly violation reports. whatever it is they use. it can't determine what's a violation or not.
i get numerous 11 and 14 viloations. or speeding. or missing graphs. all kindsa of stupid s h i t.
they are using a computer to check my computer.

started with eclipse logs, love it . easy to do
-
I use eclipse with the gps love it and if I can use it any one can. I am not the tecnical computer sort of guy.

I use DDL, Ram mount, streets and trips (for gps) & truckstopsplus as an add on to S&T.
