With our CSA scores climbing, mostly thru logbook violations I thought I should share this. Drivers Daily Log is accepted by IDC. Cost is $95 and a cheap Walmart printer.
Advantages:
1) it does the math for you, no math errors.
2) runs on Laptop and Tablets.
3) all the paper log advantages (yes you can cheat if that is your desire).
4) 50 state and Canada legal, including the new HOS rules.
5) warns of potential violations.
6) DOT loves it.
7) nice and neat, no forms and manner violations.
Disadvantages:
1) program cost
2) platform cost. Well most of us carry a laptop or something for movies anyway..
3) carrying printer, paper and ink.
You can google it to find the homepage. It's a free 30 day trial. IDC needs to use print module "keller 0801" (free). One of our drivers has developed a program for trip sheets and logs: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...-interstate-trip-sheet-app-currently-mac.html
The trip sheets work well and are accepted, but I'm not sure about the log book portion.
Computer Logs (not Elog)

mje Thanks this. -
Printer hasn't been practical, my truck sits hot or cold too often and would be another thing to drag home and back to drop and break.
Using a program and copying it to a paper log works, too. Must be current to last duty change.mje Thanks this. -
