i was flipping between p&d mon-tues to linehaul wed-fri most weeks when i was low man on flex so its hard to really tell what my yearly wouldve been. But I know for sure i wouldnt have gotten 40k with how slow our region got since sept

A lot of it does depend on location. I went through some slow years but I believe my worst was 2007 which was 47K. I was running P&D and they cut all ot and then some. It's no different than all the other cut-throat LTL companies that pay well. You don't get the money or the run you want in the first year. It takes time - took me almost 5 but it was worth it. The other common thing about the big LTL's is location, location, location. It makes a bigger difference than the name on the truck..

	Yeah, probably not..
Just kidding man.. Check out all the big LTL companies in your area at your age. I was your age when I started here. I would recommend UPS and UPS Freight first. -

Honestly I think a lot has to do with me cuz I dnt got a hs diploma...

GED? I've seen some sorted fella's running UPS Freight ...if they can ...you can do it !!!!

same at fxf, r&l and most of the big non-u companies

It goes back to when the regionals CCX, and CWX were started back in late 84. That was back when there were a ton of union LTL companies in business - the theory was one employee could do everything - hook st, drive , split set, work the dock, and so on instead of requiring 3 employees to do that work due to work rules in the contract. It allowed the companies to do more with less total employees and no contract. The model hasn't really changed so we continue to do that. The one very nice thing that comes along with that is one board seniority and the ability to bid whatever you want every January.

only thing that kinda sucks is not taking your seniority with you if you transfer to a diff terminal.
