Yeah, we definitely have a measure once cut twice complex over here. Glad you like it over at FedEx. Once you get some time in at any one LTL carrier it's hard to leave and start over but if I had to FedEx Freight is where I'd be heading. The only thing that would be hard is the city/line-haul separate board thing. I've run line-haul here for the last couple years and have about 5 more years of line-haul left in me till I go back in the city. I like that we can switch yearly but I wouldn't mind working at FedEx either.

90K for night line-haul more than justifies my aggravation for 2010..lol.. It is what it is man.. Some can handle it and some can't.. A cherry picked rule will have me running an old truck with no A/C for the rest of the year on the hottest run we have but had I chose differently on my bid sheet I'd be running a brand new Freightshaker on the same run.. It is what it is.. I put up with 5 years worth of crap here and now run at top central rate and don't wanna hear it. I figured out what paying dues was at 22 and will do what I have to do for the rest of this year bud.. I've decided I'd like to make 110,000 K in 2011 so I'm gonna bid a long run.. Then I'll have A/C too dude..lol..

I aggreee with yu Bigron33rd... I just started with conway about 5 months ago and every night its a #### rush ( FIFO) first in first out. Cant do your job properly and safely when me going home the next morning is predicated on what time i got there the night b4..I hate that system...and the sooner i get away from it the better i will be...Other than that its an ok job...

We went away from that out here - seniority in/out is the best way to do it. That's how we do it now but some guys will pass loads to make a few more bucks.

I really think its what terminal you're at for one reason when I was with conway in jessup,md it was always a rush and dispatch constently calling ur phone . I heard that the baltimore ,md terminal was a lot different from jessup , md terminal and one of the guys who left from jessup , md terminal and went to a terminal in pa I think it was york or harrisburg and he said that it was laid back up there , that's why I think its the terminal for the most part and I just kinda lucked out !!! Thank god !!!

A lot of it does depend on what terminal you're at. I never cared to pass through Jessup on via's - the good news is there's finally a traffic light on Rt 1 coming out of the Jessup terminal..haha..

Let me guess- XAU right? Now, there it seems that you can not even pass on a VIA. Makes no sense. I thought that companywide they went to senior in senior out, but that seniority has the right of first refusal, therefore they can take the loads or the VIA or they can pass them down and stay. Makes sense to me considering the senior guy paid his dues to have that choice. Other problem I have with it is safety. I had a guy pass me on a4 lane road 4 blocks from the place just to be the first in. I was going 45 in a 45 mph zone and he passed me. I let him because it is not worth an accident. They should get rid of that rule.
