Here's Service Center Information I found in the Detroit area: 6000 Middlebelt Rd Romulus, MI 48174 US Phone: (734) 729-8700 Fax: (734) 729-0916 Toll-free: (800) 772-6219 Visit or give 'em a shout. And good luck.
Thats the only downside to LTL, as its volume dependent. Im sure there is a huge FAC up there so you might luck out. I work at a super small terminal and it gets slow sometimes but I still make it up. If they dont have a run for me I clean up the dock and band up wood and stuff. So I couldnt say. the other guy posted the service center info, so call em up or visit. See what the terminal looks like and talk to a few drivers if you can. Ask how long theyve been thre as youll always have bitter, complaining employees
Well someone referred me to Whitmore Lake, MI terminal which I assume is pretty small, but I will check there anyways, and also the Romulus center. Thanks for the info !
that actually happened to me hence y i left the company. My terminal is small and they overhired. I check the website at times and they still arent looking for anybody to replace me. Some places find work for the flex guys jus to keep them interested and working. My place would only have us come in to work the outbound shift which would only be like 3 hours a day. Thats wut they only have the flex guys do which gets rough after a while. Every terminal is different and how they treat their drivers etc. One of the FAC's i go to everyone there is happy, my old terminal they werent so happy and a neighboring one was so bad that people were quitting left and right
right now i am working for a restaurant i worked at for 7 yrs, and im also working part-time for a friend who owns a few fedex ground routes, 2 of which i used to work before he got both routes when my old boss was fired. I am actually getting my TWIC card this friday, i might have a job offer with a customer who comes into the restaurant who owns a trucking business pulling containers, and im also going to the local teamsters union building to apply as well. I figure i got a chance since i have tank, hazmat, doubles/trips, and my TWIC card so we will c what happens
might be gettin a job with AM express freight. I have my TWIC card and they r gonna get my Sealink for me, talked to a recruiter and she said thats not a problem. They asked what i was looking for hourly rate but I just told them negotiable since I dont wanna sound too greedy lol
So somebody tell me what this "Flex" thing is about... I am a current driver for Truckload and am wanting to be home more ofter. How do they handle night driving? Do they just tell you your driving nights? Any other info would be appreciated. By the way, I'll be out of the Tampa, FL Terminal.
